Terms and Conditions

1. Who you are contracting with

Methrica (https://methrica.com) is operated by Kiss Boglárka, Individual Entrepreneur (sole proprietor) registered in Hungary, registered office at Csehov utca 27., 3104 Salgótarján, Hungary, individual entrepreneur registration number UEVB-00229168 (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or continuing to use the service you agree to these terms. If you are using Methrica on behalf of an institution, you confirm you are authorised to bind it; otherwise you confirm you are of legal age to enter this agreement.

2. The service

Methrica is a web application that helps researchers plan studies, search scholarly metadata, design instruments, manage collected data, run statistical analyses and draft academic writing. Statistical results are computed deterministically; AI features assist with formulation and interpretation only.

You keep control of every scientific decision. AI output is a draft that you must review, verify and accept. Methrica is not a substitute for supervision, peer review, or professional, legal, medical or financial advice.

3. Your account

You must provide accurate registration details and keep them up to date. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.

4. Licence and restrictions

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Methrica within the plan you have selected. You may not reverse engineer the service, resell or redistribute it, or circumvent technical or plan limits (including credit allowances).

5. Acceptable use

You must not use Methrica:

• for any unlawful purpose, fraud or spam;
• to infringe intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
• to upload research material you have no right to process, including personal data collected without a lawful basis or participant consent;
• to interfere with the security or integrity of the service (malware, probing, automated scraping, load testing);
• to generate content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, deceptive, or that misrepresents AI-generated text as verified scientific fact.

6. AI features, inputs and outputs

You are responsible for the material you submit, for how you use generated text, and for verifying its accuracy before it appears in academic work. AI output may be inaccurate or incomplete and must never be submitted without your own review. You retain rights in your research content and grant us a limited licence to host and process it solely to provide the service. Rights holders can contact support@methrica.com to report infringing material; repeated infringement leads to account termination.

We may filter or refuse outputs, and remove content, where required to comply with the law or these terms.

7. Intellectual property

We retain all rights in the Methrica software, documentation, statistical engine and branding. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of the service to you. Your research data and the documents you produce remain yours.

8. Availability

We work to keep Methrica available and correct, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, third-party outages and scholarly data-source changes can affect the service.

9. Payments, subscriptions and taxes

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Payment, billing, currency, tax, renewal and cancellation mechanics are governed by Paddle’s Buyer Terms. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled; cancelling stops future renewals and access continues until the end of the period already paid for. Purchased credit packs are one-off purchases and do not expire. Monthly plan credits reset at each renewal and do not roll over.

10. Refunds

See our Refund Policy. Refunds are handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record.

11. Warranties and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, data or academic opportunity. Our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not allow it.

12. Indemnity

You indemnify us against claims arising from content you upload, unlawful use of the service, or breach of these terms.

13. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated policy violations. You may stop using the service at any time. After termination you have 30 days to export your research data, after which it may be deleted.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the application before they take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the new terms.

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, and the courts of Hungary have jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. You may not assign this agreement without our consent; we may assign it in a merger or acquisition. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control.
